The full name of ACSR is aluminum conductor steel reinforced.ACSR is a kind of bare wire without sheath.The ACSR conductor can be designed in such a way that the inside of the conductor is made of steel and the exterior of the conductor is made of pure aluminum, providing the conductor with additional strength to maintain its weight.

Construction
ACSR is a concentrically stranded conductor composed of one or more layers of hard-drawn EC grade aluminum wires over a high strength coated steel core.
ACSR is made of multiple non-insulated single wires twisted together, the inside is a steel "core", and the outside is twisted with aluminum wires around the steel core; the steel core's primary function is to increase strength, and the aluminum stranded wire's primary function is to convey electrical energy.
